The CPUT short course in radiology has been developed to ensure that attending CT radiographers will be clinically competent in a range of CT procedures. The short course will also provide unprecedented clinical experience in order to contribute to a sub-specialist group of CT radiographers with a high level of skills and expertise.
Other course objectives include:
- Promote innovative thought in the acquisition, production and presentation of CT images.
- Enhance interpretation of multi-planar images.
- Develop knowledge on the safe use of CT equipment.
- Provide the candidate with a high level of practical experience in imaging techniques.
- Develop appreciation for the mechanisms involved in producing state of the art CT images of the human body.
- Enhance understanding of new advances in CT imaging.
- Develop managerial skills for CT departments.
- Serve as a continuous professional development opportunity for radiographers.
Who should attend
- Applicants who have a degree or diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
- Hold professional qualifications recognised by the Cape Peninsula University of Technology as equivalent to the diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
- Must be registered with the HPCSA.

- Computerised Tomography Angiography
Assessment and certification
- One written open book examination
- Completion of 4 case studies
- Completion of 1 major assignment.
- Completion of 3 essays.
- Completion of one technical report.
