Short Courses in Mining : Mine Design Training Course

This mining short course in basic mine design will show the student the relationship between the effective extraction of the Mineral Reserve, and sound mine design and method selection. This short course in mining will show the economic effects and consequences of correct design, exploring the effects on safety, dilution, recovery, production planning and production volume and quality, translated through to the bottom line.

Who should attend?
The course will be of particular interest to MRM practitioners, Mine Planners, Geologists and Mine Surveyors, as well as people who wish to understand the basic principles and concepts behind basic mine design.

Course dates:
4-8 June 2012

Each individual module of the Certificate Programme, including this one, is accredited as a Certificate of Competency, at Level 5 of the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). On successful completion of modules, students may apply for CPD points accordingly. The course will be assessed through an exam and an assignment, with weightings of 70% and 30% respectively.

Cost per module:
MRM Full Certificate:
R7,500 (excl VAT): 2012 full certificate fees per module – Payment for all modules must be made in full by 31 March 2012 or 10 working days before the first module (whichever comes first). Alternatively individual module prices are applied as below.
MRM Individual Modules:
R9,000 (excl VAT): 2012 Early Bird fees – Full payment must be received 10 working days before module to qualify for the early bird rate.
R9,900 (excl VAT): 2012 Normal fees – Full payment must be received 5 working days before commencement of module.
