Risk Management Short Courses Unisa

The Unisa short course in Risk management has emerged as one of the major management disciplines in the evolving a business environment of the global economy. The programme in risk management will provide employees with the required theoretical knowledge and practical implementation to be able to manage the risks that their organisation faces.


Duration
Twelve months.

Registration requirements
A National Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification.

Graduates who have successfully completed papers in Business Management, Statistics, Accounting and Economics may
apply for exemption for the corresponding modules.

Course content
The programme consists of the following semester modules:

  1. Introduction to Enterprise Risk Management
  2. Business Management
  3. Statistics
  4. Business Finance and Accounting
  5. Economics
  6. Risk Financing
  7. Risk Control


Evaluation and examination
Students will be assessed on the basis of assignments completed during the Duration of the programme and a
formal two-hour examination on each module to be written during May/June and October/November at official
UNISA examination centres. To pass a module, a student must obtain a minimum of 50% in the examination.

Certificate
On successful completion of the seven modules, students will be awarded a certificate at the University at an official
certificate ceremony.

First semester:
22 Jan (registration takes place from 1 Dec until 22 Jan)

Second semester:
16 Jul (registration takes place from 21 Jun until 16 Jul)

The cost per module is R1 100 which includes study material, tuition and examination fees. Total fees are payable at
registration. An additional cost per module will be levied for students abroad in order to cover costs. On receipt of your registration form and the relevant fees, the study material as well as a unique student number will be
dispatched to you.
